Creating your
Wizard
First of all, you have to create a
wizard. If you want a gooding Player-Vs.-player
character, be a
human wizard. A human wizard is good at
Player-Vs.-Player because they have
more HP than a
scallion. If you want a wizard with a
ton of MP, be a scallion.
Placing your
points
If you want to
have a strong Player-Vs.-Player wizard
I would suggest building your points like so:
1. Place no points on strength
2. Place no pints on agility
3. Place as many as you can on constitution
4. Place as many as you can on intelligence
5. Place the
leftover points on wisdom
After you place
your points, your stats should look like this (if you are a human):
12
12
18
18
15
Starting Out
When you start playing your wizard for
the first time you will be in a town. This is called
your home town. If
you don’t like your home town you can delete your character and re-create him.
He will most
likely start in a new town. If you don’t like this town either try again.
Once you find a town to your liking, set your action keys. I set my
wizard’s action key’s like so :
k=minor adgredi
f=food
w=white pearl
h=blue pearl
Once you have set your action keys,
you should set your in-game keys, like the ‘change view
key’ and such.
After all your keys are set, go to your inventory screen (the key is usually
set
for‘i’). Put on
all the gear you have in your inventory. The gear you start out with is not
very
good, but you will
get better gear as you go along.
Hunting
If you try to kill animals by yourself
when you first begin, you will probably get killed
in 3-5 shots. So,
instead of going out and fighting by yourself, do this :
Go out and find an enemy, like an imp
for instance. As soon as the imp sees you, he will
try to attack you.
Do not try to fight him right now!!!! Instead, run towards town. When you get
near town a guard
should come and kill the imp. After the guard has killed the imp, go up and
take
the gear the imp
left for you.
Once you attain the stuff, go sell it to
any merchant in town.
Keep following the pattern of drawing
the enemies toward town and then selling their gear
until you have a
good amount of money.
You want enough money to buy a elven
leather
from the defense
merchant. Now that you have more protection you can withstand more blows, which
in
turn means that
you can go out fight.
Hunting by Yourself
I would suggest
fighting in Semel or Terthius. If you fight in Semel, go to the west until you
reach some rocks.
From there you can go up and down the rock wall killing imps and trolls as
you go.
Another good part about hunting in Semel
is that you can do the ‘Milly’s letter quest’ (see
the Xenimus Atlas
page for details).
You should hunt imps and such until
you reach level 4. Now you will have
new spells and be
able to where
magic gear. Your stats should look like this:
13
12
20
18
15
The reasons for putting a point on
strength is that after you do the strength shrine and
the Great Hall
shrine you will have 15 strength, which gives you a bonus amount of strength.
My action keys at this point looked
something like this :
k=Tiron Adgredi
h=Minor Mederi
v=Minor Velocitas
r=Minor Flamma
Ventus
p=Minor Tueri
l=Minor Flamma
n=Nocte Visus
f=food
Ok, now you are ready for skeletons. I
would suggest fighting skellies in the Semel Graveyard
because it is less
populated.
Make sure that before you go hunting
for skellies you have put on your ‘charge’ spells
(spells that boost
your defense, attack, speed, etc.). Skeletons will hurt a lot
less if you have
the Tueri spell on. And you can hit a lot faster if you have Velocitas on.
Ok, now to the fun part. Hunting skellies
isn’t too difficult if you know how to. It is fairly
easy to hunt
them if you have
one thing: MP Regen. Some Magic Elven Leather has ‘props’, or properties, on
it.
The most common property is +1 MP Regen.
With this prop you can be constantly using spells,
but never running
out of MP, and this is exactly what you need for fighting skeletons.
Fighting
Strategies
The best strategy for a mage is to
use...MAGIC!!!!!! Ok, seriously, using magic is only
easy if you use it
correctly. This means that you should use your magic sparingly.
Instead of Flamma Ventusing every
skeleton, gather a large group of skeletons and then when
they’re in a
straight line, Flamma them. If you can kill 5 skellies with only one or two
spells,
you save a ton of
magic.
Level 8
Ok, the reason I have an entire
section devoted to ‘Level 8’ is that it is a very important
level. At this
level you can fight wizards, a fairly strong enemy. You will find the easiest
wizards at the
light green section on the map, south-east of Semel.
All right, first thing about level 8
is the new spells. Here are what my keys looked like
at level 8 :
g=Mutatio Nimbus (
Turn into a cloud. Very fast way of traveling)
k=Medius Adgredi
(Star Missile)
r=Tiron Flamma
Ventus (Flame Wind)
h=Minor Mederi
(Heal)
m=Arcessere Flamma
( create a fireball)
j=Medius Ignis
(Fire Missile)
a=Tiron Noxa Tueri
( Damage Reflect)
p=Medius Tueri
(Protection against Physical Damage)
v=Minor Velocitas
(Speed)
x=Minor Extrudere
(Protection from Magic)
z=Tiron Robur (
Strength)
e=Emmisarius
(Dedect Evil)
q=Contra Magicus
(Dispell someone)
/=Contra Visus
(Invisibility)
n=Nocte Visus
(Night Vision)
Ok, fighting wizards is fairly easy as
long as you know how : Heal, then Flamma Ventus,
then heal, etc..
Follow this pattern and they will either be killed by your Flamma, or kill
themselves (Tiron
Noxa Tueri reflects the damage they do).
Killing wizards isn’t too hard as long
as they don’t gang up on you. So, instead of just
walking around the
shrine waiting for wizzies to come and kill you, use Contra Visus to go
invisible.
Obviously, they can’t see you when
you’re invisible, which means you can take them out one by
one.
Level 9
Ok, when you reach level 9 you get the
spell Multi Minor Nex. Multi Minor Nex is an Ok
spell for right
now, but when you get the more powerful versions of it later on, it will be
your
main leveling
spell. The reason for being your main spell is that it hits every monster on
the
screen. I set the
key for Multi Minor Nex to ‘w’.
When you level up from 8 to 9, place a
point on intelligence. Your points should look like
this :
13
12
23
20
15
Having a lot of intelligence is really
good because it gives you more experience per kill.
My level 12
Paladin only got 18 experience per kill from wizards. My level 9 wizard gets
26. So as
you can see it
helps a ton to have that extra intelligence.
Intelligence also makes your spells
more powerful, which comes in handy when you really
hate some other
guy on dungeon server...=P
I would recommend leveling at wizzies for a while since it
gives such a large amount of
experience.
One note though : If you want to be able
to take them one with out being invisible, wear six
Salubris rings
(each ring gives you about 10 HP at level 9) .
These rings help more than you can
imagine. My level 9 Wizard has more HP than MP.
Finishing Up
Ok, I’ve covered
most of the basics. The only thing left is your own touch. You can place your
points however you
like; I was just giving you an example. So, go out, make a wizzie, and rule
Xenimus!!!!!!!
