Getting Started

When first starting the game, there are some things you should know. Once you have connected to the web and are running Xenimus, you will have to create a new character. Your can create up to five characters in all that will be stored on the server. You must select from your characters sex, race, and class. Remember that all of these factors will affect your characters statistics. You must also divide up the bonus, and skill points that you are given to the particular attributes, and skills that you wish to raise from the start. These things will also drastically affect your character during game play, so distribute these points with the utmost of scrutiny, as more points will usually only come after considerable amounts of time. Once you have created a character, and set that characters password, you can start the game by clicking "log on" . the password must be entered in the password field in order for you to log on.  Select the character you wish to play from the list of created characters at the top of the screen. Characters can be deleted, or have their passwords changed by use of the corresponding buttons on the title screens. It is wise to check your account number by clicking the "account number" button on the title screen, and writing it down in a safe place.

Once you have logged into the game, you will be randomly born at one of a few "safe zones" on the map. You will also be reborn in one of these "safe zones" in the event that you should die.**unless you should happen to be an evil character... they go to the evil village...**  The safe zones are all connected by a road that runs along the center of one of the islands in the world. You can get to the other 2 safe zones by following the road. It is important to denote why these areas are called "safe zones". They are called "safe zones" because anyone who is standing in them is safe. If a person is standing in the "safe zone" they cannot take damage. In fact if anything tries to damage them, the damage will be done to the person attacking. So if someone attacked you in the safety zone, they would be killing them self. And if you attack someone in the safety zone, you would hurt your self. Simple, you cannot hurt anything when its in the safety zone. If  something should happen to attack you while your in the zone, it will die from hurting itself eventually, and YOU,  will get the experience from it dying. This is a good way for new players to get some early experience.

However, not all monsters are stupid enough to continue hurting themselves until they die. So finding dumb monsters would help for this particular tactic. Now when hunting your first game, remember that you are weak...very weak. So be resourceful, and try to rely on a bit more brain then brunt (unless you are a big strong fighter) when striving for the first few levels. Don't go running off to try and find a deep dark dungeon, or try to kill other players in town. Both of these will get you killed very quickly. Especially trying to harm other players. Going at the throats of other players who are most likely able to kill you in a single blow will make for a very sad game playing experience for you.  Instead just go out and fight monsters that are near the path or towns. they are weak, and you can get strong by killing them and selling there items for what you desire. Try to use tactics that keep you away from the monsters (like poisoning and running them in circles, until they die from the poison). The areas surrounding the birthing safe zones, and most areas immediate to the trail will only have weak monsters. This is good to know if you don't want to find yourself in the wrong places when you are still weak. Simply, stay next to the path and somewhere around the safe zones, and you wont likely be slaughtered by huge fire breathing skulls or such. As you gain levels you can start to venture further and further, and deeper into dungeons without meeting things you have no chance of killing.

However, you can do whatever you like from the start. There are many quests, and things to explore in the huge world of Xenimus. At first, it is best not to get too wrapped up in the goings on in town, where you could shop till you drop, or discuss the weather with your ally across the world. The safe zones are just a starting area, and you wont really get anywhere in the game by sitting on it all day. If the thought of going out into the world alone is too much, ally with some people and go as a group. Remember that you need to get strong by gaining experience, and going up levels in order to get experience most of the game. In order to do this, you must fight. Beginner players should take a slower approach to their monster killing crusades, as they are not strong enough to battle multiple monsters at once. Building your character in Xenimus will take time. One should not expect to be able to kill anything in sight within a few hours. For beginning players, it is recommended to proceed with caution. Starting a new character can be frustrating if you just run out trying to kill everything, and keep dying. However, until you have reached your first few levels, you will not lose any experience for dying. You will however still drop the items that you were carrying. These are just a few pointers to  help you get started on your journey through Xenimus safely. Try lookng over the "FAQ" chapter below, and the "Game Play Tips"section for additional help.
